Device picture missing in Garmin Connect

Previous thread was marked resolved 3 days ago, but issue is not resolved.

Device image does not show in multiple places on Garmin Connect website (Win 10, Win 11, Chrome, Edge, cleared cache/cookies)

Device Information page, tiles on dashboards, and Devices and Sync Status menu do not show the image

Device image does not show in Garmin Connect iPhone app (latest iOS, latest app version)

The only place where it seems to work is on Activity detail pages where the device was used during the activity.

  • Here to report the same issue, exactly as descriped above. The only place that properly displays the image is when looking at an activity that used the 840 Solar.
    Tested using multiple browsers on Windows 10 and 11, app used on iPhone 12 mini with latest version of iOS.
    Jus the image URL that fails to load is marginally different for me: https://res.garmin.com/en/products/010-02695-21/v/c1_01_md.png (21 instead of 20)

  • same issue with my edge 840 "bundled" unit. the only place I see the devise photo is on Garmin express

    my edge 840 (purchased as a devise only) was/is showing on all my systems (phone, computer)

  • All, thank you for bringing this to our attention. I would like to collect more information to create a ticket for our teams to look into this. If you are noticing the Edge 840 device picture is missing from Garmin Connect Web (GCW) or Garmin Connect Mobile (GCM), please reply in the comments with the following: 

    1. What version of web browser are you using?
    2. Where are you located?
    3. If you haven't already, could you post screenshots in this thread of how the device picture appears (if missing) in GCW or GCM?
  • Same here... Still!

    No picture at Garmin Connect web (Safari and Chrome) from the first day and lost it almost a month ago from the IOS app.

    I can see it only at Garmin Express and after an activity that used the 840 Solar.

  •  I'll be happy to investigate this further but I will need to collect more information from those affected in order to press forward as I'm not able to reproduce the issue on my computer. Could you provide the information in the questions above?

    Windows 10 and 11: Edge, Firefox, Chrome (all up-to-date)
    MacOS: Edge, Safari, Arc (all up-to-date)
    iOS 16.5.1: Safari, Garmin Connect app (all up-to-date)

    3. First screenshot is from Microsoft Edge, second one from Safari, third and fourth one from Garmin Connect app on iOS. The last screenshot shows the image appearing when looking at the page of an activity that used the device.

    1. I checked at Safari 16.5.1 and Chrome on my Mac and on my iPhone (IOS 16.5.1) Garmin Connect App; all updated.
    2. Istanbul, Turkey
    3. Screen shots are identical like the others. There is question mark or Garmin's triangle instead of Edge 840 Solar's picture.
    4. My FR 955 and HRM Pro are there (on every platform) with their pictures.
