Does anyone find the charging port cover on Edge 840 ridiculously loose?

It opens with just a light touch. It seems that the rubber part is particularly short, and there is not enough friction to keep the cover tightly closed.

Yep. I got mine yesterday and the cover is barely on there. I suspect the USB C port itself is water resistant like those on cell phones, but I wouldn't want debris or water getting in there regularly…

It is a bit loose, but with the silicone case around mine, it’s a bit of a non-issue. You still have to “dig” out the door to open it.

I find it easy to remove but it does not open unexpectedly. I have no issues with mine

after a r3 hour road trip in the rain, water got under the cover around the usb port. the cover is not 100% tight. this can lead to serious problems. did you observe something similar?

I agree the usb cover is loose.

Mine is loose as well. I put a very small dab of earthquake putty on the inside left side of door (left of the usb port) and that does the trick.

I use the supplied tether and the USB port cover is too loose for my liking as well. Not a brilliant design. Why didn’t they make a little gap for the tether?

Yes! Sent an email to Garmin on same too. Mine actually has bounced out a couple of times on MTB trails. Never seen another Garmin product with this loose a plug.
