Does anyone find the charging port cover on Edge 840 ridiculously loose?

My 840 is due today so IDK, but the same has been reported for the 1040.  People complain about it falling open during rides.

I bought the 840 yesterday and one of the first things I noticed was the UBC C port door, which actually opens very easily and a little too easily for my comfort level ;) but today I drove a fairly long, bumpy distance and nothing happened. I use the mount in front of the handlebar stem, included in the kit.

Yep.  I got mine yesterday and the cover is barely on there.  I suspect the USB C port itself is water resistant like those on cell phones, but I wouldn't want debris or water getting in there regularly. 

This issue is the same on my 1040. I’ve just had the door replaced but can’t see much difference. Doesn’t take much for it to open. Mine was opening up after a a bit of riding on bumpier surfaces. The 1030 and 1030+ had a much more secure usb door cover. 

It is a bit loose, but with the silicone case around mine, it’s a bit of a non-issue. You still have to “dig” out the door to open it.

The USB cover is very loose. That said, I have used the 840 for almost 1000 km road biking and have not had an issue the cover yet. I expect people will have an issue with this when riding off-road and/or the device ages.

I called support about this and they are wanting to replace the device all together. Not really expecting a replacement will make any difference but fingers crossed...... 

I wonder if Garmin will adjust the design of the door. The part that goes into the USB-C plug could be a bit thicker to hold the door.

I have the same issue with loose USB cover. I have to push it hard to prevent it from falling off...

I find that mine became more secure as I used it. After about a week of use it stays in place even on technical MTB.
