I just wanted to highlight that I gathered an understanding that you have 0% chance without the weather toggle being enabled.
And you are right that 1) since devices are busy during activities 2) moreover only the weather data at the starting time is collected as used by the device and shown by GC later, there is a probability of like 99% that weather data has to be on the device at the time of pressing Start button. Maybe there is sone tolerance of a couple of minutes, but I dont think so.
The only thing which should be tested is whether it counts that you see the weather report in status page. My bet it does.
Finally let me remark that I had read almost a dozen support atticles about weather data, weather alert, inconsistent weather data, heat accl, altitude accl. I found no reference on this weather toggle, just on the weather location (current vs fixed).
First, I also got additional heat acclimation score. Fine.
For an hour the weather data were not updated, thus I thought it was disallowed to update during the ride. But just before ending my ride they were updated, so it keeps open the possibility of some tolerance time window at the beginning. Nex time I will close GCM and will open just a minute after the ride start.
On the other hand I can confirm that only the first data set counts. Temperature before and at the start was 28 C deg.hence as a rounded number, the updated data was 26C degree shortly before the end of the ride. GCM shows 28.3 C deg.
