Hello, this keeps happening to me and the factory reset changed nothing. Has anyone from Garmin replied?

No official response, as far as i know. But there was a software update since, maybe that fixed it?

Thanks for the reply. It did it twice again today, despite latest software and a total factory reset with no re-sync of activity profiles.

after few months without turning off during activity recordin, problem appeared again yesterday ...

Just to help you find out what's the issue, for me, it all started with version 9.x. It seems to be related with loss of data coming from the GPS chip and/or the Bluetooth or ANT devices. I was using the 830 with a SRAM Force AXS eTap based bike (with Quarq power meter) and a Varia RTL510 lamp/radar (ANT+ only) when it all started. It is like if the 830 unit received invalid data (null values, negative values where positive values are expected, etc.) and a kind of "try/catch" was missing somewhere, making the app to crash and restart when the exception is thrown. Sorry for the software developer language, but it looks so much like this!

I wrote "I was using", past tense, because I put my 830 on hold. I am now using a competitor product - with a dangerous fish name - until the issue is fixed. So, please, first try to look inside your code to see where it can fail and if you can't find out, then contact me is necessary. But I don't use the Edge 830 anymore, so I don't know how I can be of any help. But this is not a reason not to fix the issue, by the way... I want to use my Edge 830 on my other bikes!

Like Leo below, I'm considering switching to a competitor. I do ultra-distance races and I need to know that when I'm riding at night I won't miss a turn because my head unit has powered down (I also hate losing data when I'm going for a PB in a race as happened a couple of weeks ago).

Are you making solving this a priority, or should I get a W**** Element ***t??

I can also add that on every ride the sensors Garmin speed and HRM and Stages PM drop out.
