All my sensors (Speed / cadence / heart rate )repeatedly disconnects and then reconnects during indoor activity

Hello,

During my indoor activity using my edge 830 in indoor mode (no GPS) connected to my scwinn IC8 bike sensors (speed and cadence) + heart rate monitor polar OH1 I am repeatedly seeing the disconnection of my 3 sensors during activity. It's very frustrating !!!! I tried a factory reset of my edge but no difference . I am using the version 9.10 and I've seen that a beta version 9.24 is available, but I didn't see any sensor related fixing in the release note .

In the error log file I see this error several times:

  • When I received the disconnection message, inmediately I receive a connection message, less than a second later, with all the sensors (a lot of beeps).
How can I see the error log to see if I have disconnections in 7.10?
What have I to search in the log?
(I feel we are beta testers... not final users of a finished product)

  • In my case, I can see the many drops of heart rate (disconnections) in the Garmin Connect graph. (web site, not in GC mobile).

Some activities a few of them; some activities 30-40 drops. Always short drops; between 1 and 5 seconds

  • I also started seeing this after some firmware update. At a random point during my (outdoor) rides, all sensors disconnect and then reconnect. Very annoying.

  • I check in the GARMIN/DEBUG folder there are some error files , I don't have my garmin with me to tell you the exact location, is where I found this error several times:

  • There is an elephant in the room Grimacing, Garmin should give us un oficial answer .

Seems that a lot of users have this problem but they don't pay attention , because at the end of a ride, the ride is well registered (gps trace) and few missing sensors information don't pose too much problems .  If you have a speed sensors when is disconnected you will have the speed calculated by gps so your AVG will not be very impacted ....

  • Do you use the phone connection during your rides ? If yes, is it an Iphone ?

  • Do you use the phone connection during your rides ? If yes, is it an Iphone ?

  • Yes, I use my phone (for live tracking and weather info); no, it is an Android phone (the issue happens with two different phones, Moto G5 and Jelly Pro 2).

  • For your next ride try to disable from your edge device the phone connection , for me seems to work fine, I did yesterday a 30 min ride indoor and everything was fine

  • If Garmin uses this info for debugging and fixing, I will try. Otherwise, I'd like to keep the connection to let my other half know where I am. :-)
