In order to support shifting systems with multiple batteries, we updated shifting system battery status fields to graphically represent the component and status. This change applied to all fields to maintain…
Agree with what’s being said here , the new battery level icon is a backwards step.
The actual percentage figure was great and to change it with this latest update is just daft and obviously programmed…
I used "di2 battery" for my E-bike with steps e8000, is horrible to loos the % value
i hope it will come back, i dont wont buy a "ew-en100"
agreeing with ic3cold, bring back %
The best practice for lithium batteries is to re-charge at 40%. I can almost understand adding the graphical battery capacity status, but why in the world would Garmin eliminate the numerical field?
It gives greater sensitivity at the low end of the battery charge, which is where you need it.
More like having an old gas gauge. Looks like it’s full, but once it gets below 50% drops quickly. The average person will see a gauge with 5 bars and assume each one represents 20%. If that table didn’t get posted only Garmin would know that the last bar is only 10%, and the one before it is 14%. I’d think I would have a faulty battery seeing it drop off like that.
Indeed, who cares if it 50% or 70%, you will be able to make a ride
I do. Because it is the battery level of my e-bike. between 50% and 70% is a difference of 15km. That means driving or pushing.
Could you provide details on your ebike system as my understanding is that this change should only impact the Di2 battery and not any ebike systems.
i have a MTB Merida e-one sixty 2018. with a shimano motor e8000 and the bluetooth display SC-E8000. With this system, the motor battery is displayed as a Di2 battery. I had the edge 820 explore before. since it didn't work with this one, I bought the 830.
Thanks for the information.
" ....You can also see the % in the Sensor Details UI ...."
How and where can I see this exactly? Can it be shown on an activity screen field?
