Wi-Fi turning back on by itself!

Every now and then my Edge 830 turns the Wi-Fi back on!! Grrrr

Does this happen to anyone else?

I meant that the user experience ultimately doesn't matter in terms of escalating this issue, because that has already been done…

For me I only want activities uploading when I turn on GC. Mostly because sometimes I wait for a Zwift file to upload first, before allowing Garmin to. This is useful when uploading workouts to Training Peaks. If uploaded in the wrong order it is a pain to correct.

Usually I dont use the wifi conection, I upload the activities by bluetooth (smartphone).

If I turn off wifi, I want this.

The last weekend I try to turn off the autoupload switch in the Wifi menu, I think this was the problem. With the Wi-Fi turn off and the autoupload turn on, sometimes the device turn on the conection by itself

Yes happens here as well. Turned it on to prevent firmware updates, and to control upload of rides. But somehow the WiFi gets turned on again at some point. I really would like to prevent automatical firmware updates.

I bought a unit that works fine. I don't need new functionality that can ruin the things that already works fine for me. Seems strange that you can't opt out of updates on a unit you bought and paid for. I even think it is illegal in the country I live in.

I usually have Wifi turn off.

This week has happened three times. When I press save activity I see the wifi bars along with the rest of the connected devices, then I go to the wifi menu and I can see that WIFI is "ON".......

How can it be possible?

If the Wi-Fi connection is turned off, 
why does it turn on by itself in the middle of an activity?
Could it be that it activates itself when the device reconnects the sensors?

No idea.

If I deactivate the Wi-Fi connection because I do not want to have it turned on, 
I think that it would not have to be activated in any way by itself
