As the 830 (and others) live by communicating (by WiFi, BT/cell phone) with Garmin's servers, I can only imagine that Garmin does some tests to assess the (small) likelihood that contaminated packages are transferred through these channels.
Personally I judge this possibility as non existent, but I guess Gamin is "a bit" cautious right now.

I have also used this beta since it came out, and (hope I don’t jinx it) but no problem except training load/vo2 max wasn’t showing in gcm for first few days but it is now. 1030 also had a .66 beta at the same time and that one is now updated to .68 so I hope we also have it for 830 soon and the reason for pulling it back resolved.
