I would recommend waiting for the next beta release. If Garmin pulled 5.66 I would avoid it.
Surprise surprise. A ransomware or two will not change the policy of this company. Absolutely no communication with the people who feed them. Silence.........as always.
There must be a good reason, as aweatherall says: "I would recommend waiting for the next beta release. If Garmin pulled 5.66 I would avoid it. " for Garmin to pull back these beta-releases. Why are…
I've already loaded it on my 830 since Sunday.
Also on Monday after connecting to Garmin express on my computer I've received GPS firmware 4.50. (before it was 2.90)
Have not noticed any change / improvement in GPS reception. Still showing the track 20 - 30 meters away and jumping from one side to the other when riding in the urban environment.
To my and this forum's understanding the latest public beta is 5.51. Where does your "5.66" originate?
It was online for a short time here: https://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=14955
There are a lot of improvments - but I haven't checked them yet.
I got it from link on this page http://gpsinformation.net/allory/new.htm
but now is beta removed and it’s not mentioned in the sticky posts.

Looks as though they have pulled all the beta's. At least for the 530 and 830
