I just wonder if is possible to replace a battery in Edge 830 or 530 on this same way as in 520 I haven't seen any tutorial, anybody know ?

  • The 830 has the same form (about) as the 820 so look on U-tube

If you have to replace the 830 battery already it must be a guarantee case....

Hi I haven't seen any tutorial about 830 or 530 how to replace the battery that's why I'm asking to know if that would be possible. Regards

  • Yes it is possible but as Martin points out, the process is probably similar to the 820, for which there are videos available.   The 830 is not designed to have the battery replaced so it's not easy or straightforward.  If your batter is bad, consider a warranty claim.  If it is out of warranty coverage, you can exchange it for a refurbished unit, which will have a new battery and be indistinguishable from new for something like $150

Hi, see Martin point. I know the 830/530 are not designed to replace the battery as all edges. The question is if the method is the same as  820?   If yes, that would be good Thumbsupthe reason  why I'm asking is because I want to buy 830 but as you know probably after 2 years even earlier battery Battery will hold energy much shorter that's why wanted to know about the possibilities of replacing. But probably until somebody do  this first time we  can't be 100 percent sure. Thanks

  • Probably not necessary to change out the battery.  Just get the Garmin Charge Power Pack and use the external battery connection built into the mount.
