GPS 2.90 is now live 3 month old?

They keep amazing me....

Of course (?) no update thru GE and indeed GPS 2.9 already installed a long time ago.

What is wrong there?

What do you mean with 4.30? GPS firmware is @ 2.90 and main firmware somewhere between 5.10 amd 5.51

Ah, that makes matter clear. I wonder then why Garmin is still at version 2.90.

The same chip is used across many Garmin products. The chip has many different operational modes to cater for different use cases such as swimming. Garmin have given the same chip different part numbers so that they can deliver builds that are specific to the needs of a given unit. This is why the same chip has different builds. If you look in the XML file you will see that these units actually have a different part number for the GPS chip.

It is not that the Edge is behind in builds, but rather it is using a different build that is specific to the needs on that unit.

Version 4.40 is ready for Fenix 6...

thanks for the good explanation, the only thing i don't understand, why GPS 2.90 is published 2 day ago again, i am sure i have this version since 3 month on my Edge 830?

is there a Version mismatch on Garmin side?
