Cycle Map version 2020.10 has no 'night mode' in Road profile?

I seem to recall Garmin had this same bug when they introduced version 2019.10, basically the dark 'night mode' map display reverts to the normal 'day mode' version passed a certain zoom point (0.8mile). Has anyone else noticed this or managed to fix it?

Hi Andy,

No unfortunately I haven't figured it out (I tried reinstalling) - but I haven't seen anyone else complaining about it either which made me wonder if it was only me with the issue (despite the fact I experienced the exact same problem after a map update on a previous device)!

Do you also see that night mode returns if you zoom the map right out?

Hi,

Yes, just tried and confirm that it enters dark mode if I zoom right out. But you have to zoom out miles, to the point that the map would be useless for navigational purposes.

I'll edit my other post to mention this point. I tend to agree with you that it's a map problem.

Hi,

Garmin released 2020.20 maps over Christmas and lo-and-behold, the dark mode issue is resolved.

Garmin support tell me their engineers are still investigating the issue. The same update they've been giving for months. Useless.

Anyway, an upgrade will sort you out.

Sorry I only just noticed your reply today when I also came to report the issue being fixed. Yes, the updated maps fixed the issue (it's the first time I've checked for map updates this year). This is the second time it's taken Garmin nearly a year to sort it out though! Cheers..
