Firmware 5.50 disappointed

I know it's a pain to do this but I usually do a full reset after each firmware upgrade. Resetting usually removes the gremlins that show up.

I’ve got exactly the same. Wish I hadnt updated, Garmin software testing before release is a joke.

Wim, I just dropped the unpacked FW 5.50 file in the garmin folder of the Edge830 internal storage. Disconnected and restarted the Edge. Nothing happens. Do you have a clue what I can do?

no, it don't work, seems Garmin have a prob with their rollout servers, even Express shows a different Firmware when you install the fw manually and of course the official fw site of garmin shows wrong version too:

before 5.50 there was 5.10, but it shows only 5.00

I can't even get Garmin Express to recognize there is an update. Mine says that i'm up to date with 5.10. Crap thing is my 830 is suffering from rapid battery drain. I can get maybe two rides out of a full charge, power the thing down with 91% battery remaining and wake up the next morning to a completely flat battery.

I'm guessing here, but I'd factory reset it.

Doing so, seems to fix lots of issues.

I'm sure. Sucks to have to go that far, and lose all your profile settings, to correct issues that occur so frequently.

you can copy most of the settings files and drop them back on the device after a master reset.
