Edge 830 lost from garmin connect on every reboot of iphone

Any time my iphone reboots, my garmin connect acts as if my fenix 5x is new (but reconnects) and my edge 830 is missing. The Bluetooth pairing is there, so this is NOT an iOS issue, but one in the application or edge 830.

After deleting the edge 830 items in bluetooth, then forgetting the pairing on the device, I can reconnect it again after. After the configuration goes through, the device will attempt to sync where it will 100% of the time fail. Quit the GC app, start it again, and it may sync properly.

Will work "fine" from that point on until my iphone is rebooted again, where the same process occurs. This is a 100% repeatable situation.

I have the same issue when for whichever reason need to force restart my iphone, after which when I launch the Connect app it prompts me to log in and add/pair all my devices again.

I've previously went through the whole task of logging in, removing and re-pairing the bluetooth devices and connecting them via connect again, etc.

The fix for me is that after a forced iPhone reboot, and Connect app gives me this nonsense of needing to log in, I just force quit the Connect app from the app switcher, then shut down the phone using the normal power button method and slide to shut down. After booting back up the phone, and launching the connect app, it has always launched ok and syncs with my Garmin devices again.

I have exactly the same issue for my 1030, 830 & FR935.

Seems to be an issue with GC on iPhone.

Cannot find support note from Garmin on the topic. Hopefully it’s addressed in next update as it’s damn annoying.

Could you try my workaround as mentioned above and see if it works? It works for me.

I have the same issue for 630 recently after the update of Garmin connect. It was fine before.

Hi Martin,

your workaround does not work for me.

I still have to "forget" the 2 bluetooth connections on the iPhone and delete the phone pairing on the 830. After that I need to repair and run through the setup.

Another issue I have is that since last week my 830 does no longer connect to my Mac. Even after rebooting the Mac and re-starting the 830 it does not connect and is not showing up in Garmin Express.

Think both issue need an urgent fix.

My wifes phone does this with her Venu, but mine doesn't with my 830 or 1030.
