Try a hard power off. Hold the power button down for around 15 seconds.
If you can power it off then there options to force it to mass storage or reset it.
I have tried this but it doesn’t work as you get an option to turn off or put into sleep mode. If you select power off or sleep it does nothing??
You need to hold down longer. It will force a power down without the dialogue.
I’ve tried holding down for 30s to no luck it turns off and you get the charging/non turned on screen. When I turn on I get the same loading courses, workouts etc
Try the following as soon as it turns off hold down the lap button and connect the USB cable. Hopefully you can intercept the start up process and force the unit into mass storage. If it mounts to the computer see if there are any files in the NewFiles folder. If there are then delete them.
If this does not work you can try a reset. As soon as the unit powers off hold down the lap and start button. Hold these town for 5 seconds or so. This should force a reset as the unit power ups.
It's also possible that you may have a really big activity file in the activities folder that some users have been seeing, which is really slowing down the boot. So if you can connect it to a computer try that folder too
The large file issue was fixed in the current software builds unless you have an Asian regional unit as those units are still waiting for that update, but it never hurts to check.
Hi I have had to send it back to Garmin as it’s knackered tried all things but it would work.Awaiting a replacement ️
