I am still learning how to use my new Edge 830, and today I downloaded a course from Trailforks to my 830. When I started the course, I saw two arrows that moved along the course. What does this represent and how do I get rid of the second arrow?

I find very annoying this second grey arrow on the screen, running around on the map.
I think should be implemented an option to disable it, as many users do not need to have it.
I suppose this modification…
Currently there is no way to do that.
You can either set the pace data very slow or very fast. That way within a short period of starting the course the VP arrow will be off the screen.

I suppose this modification would not cost too much time for the software development.
Many users just want to enjoy a tour and see their position on the map, not the position of a "virtual parner". I was so happy I had this virtual partner not anymore on the Edge Explore 820.
Now I bought the Edge 830 and this VP again is back. For me it is such an annoying feature that I would not have bought this new device, if I knew was not possible to disable it!
I completely agree, and I've tried "slowing down" the VP by lowering the pace percentage, but it doesn't seem to always stay that way, so I guess I need to do that every ride, which is a pain. For example I rode a course yesterday that I created in the Connect mobile app and synced with my 830, and then there was the VP arrow, ahead and behind me throughout the ride. Very distracting! I still don't understand why this is not something that the user can choose to enable or disable.
I've submitted my feedback through the ideas website to allow the user to disable the VP, and I encourage you to do the same:
So the BIG grey arrow is the VP, and the small, bluish-grey is 'me'? Yikes. An option to remove the VP (ideal), make it smaller, a non-arrow indicator (like a circle or something) would seem obvious!
Why can't Garmin provide a way to disable the Virtual Partner?
I found this annoying as well but because I use dynamic watch to create my routes, they have an option where you can set the speed of the VP. I've set my virtual partner speed to be 99km/h. I can promise you that the arrow is off the screen very quickly that way and is usually waiting for me at the end of the course at least a few hours before I arrive!
