Does anyone know if there's a way to get the workout to pause when you stop? When I'm not using a workout, my auto-pause works when I'm not riding a planned workout, but when I choose the workout it doesn't pause.

Nice to see an official Garmin reply. Thanks!
May I use the occasion to kindly ask you to implement the ability to pause the progress of a workout without pausing the ride?
Many people want this - basic…

I fully agree. Would be a reason to switch to competitors with the next bike computer if this is not changed. It sucks. Not everyone lives on countryside.
Question is why? For no reason. You cycle, interval ahead, traffic light turns red. Either you stop manually (risking to turn on again) or you lose a sprint interval or something else.
A I want an autostop option
B I would like a "hold" function to stop the workout timer but not the recording when I see traffic situations ahead which will hinder me from taking the next interval.
If option A doesn't come till June, I will get rid of my Edge, forerunner and other stuff and definitely switch. I think wahoo has that function. Keeping on discussing here is ridiculous.
When you set up the workout in advance like that you can. Makes sense only between, but not inside sets. That's what I do to buffer the misconception. But doesn't always work, you can not anticipate everything. Also, you may forget that it's time for the next set. That also happens to me when you have a couple of sets.

Just do a quick search throughout this forum.
Sorry for potential hi-jack. I just got so excited to see a Garmin reply.
asgerhj You can pause a workout by pressing the start/stop button just like you would during a normal ride if you were not using auto pause. When you do this the Edge will go to the summary page, but you can simply press the start stop button on the device again to resume the workout.
