Unable to modify layout using Garmin Connect

I have a Garmin Edge 540 running version 20.19

When I try and change a Data Screen layout I get an error,

"Settings Failed to Update
Something went wrong. Try again."

I have tried multiple times. This is using a profile of my own, "Road 2", not a default profile.

My process is as follows

  1. I run Garmin Connect on my phone
  2. Click on the devices icon at the top of the screen
  3. Click on the Garmin 540
  4. Select Activity Profiles
  5. Select Road 2
  6. Select Data Screens
  7. Select Screen 2 (a screen I added myself in January)
  8. Select Layout and Data Fields
  9. Select a different Layout

That's when I immediately get the error above.

I have tried this multiple times.

I have power cycled both the Edge 540 and my phone.

I can modify the screen on the Edge 540 itself.

Is this a known issue?

Is there any workaround for this?
