When will Garmin adjust the algorithm to identify corrupt HR data .

I realise you can't fix corrupt data.  It's calculated in device after each activity.  But given how much heart rate monitors (all brands) experience issues, it is amazing to me that Garmin will not first identify the issue and ask if you want it discarded/corrected and at the very minimum allow it to be corrected after and have stats recalculate.

If you are riding along at 220bpm at 140watts and your FTP is 260 with a lactate HR threshold of 162bpm, surely Garmin can identify something is up here.  They have everyone's data.  They would know that this is not normal and something is up.  Then when you stop the ride you either discard it and get no benefit (annoying if you did a decent vo2max session) or get corrupted data for weeks.  The other issue is Garmin will adjust your heart rate zones to the "new max".  So any ride after is seen as low aerobic, even if you are in high aerobic zones.you have to actually go in and reset the zones.  This probably catches out heaps of users.

I'm at the point after 5 years that the Garmin metrics are becoming more of a hassle than they are worth.

Time to innovate guys.
