Garmin Edge 530 in boot loop after update

Dear Forum,

last Sunday a connected my Edge 530 to my Mac running Os X Catalina to check if some updates were available through Garmin Express (version 7.15.00). Four updates were found and I started the update process.

After a few seconds, the Edge rebooted and loaded the Garmin screen showing version and model. Then rebooted again and a again in a loop.The boot process arrives to the same screen described before and reboot making the classical startup beep.

I tried several solution found in the forum but none worked. The only thing I succeeded was to punt the Edge in storage holding the Lap button mode while connected to the Mac.In this way I also removed the GDupdate file inside, to allow the new update installation.

I found in the forum several button combination but none f the worked and also in the manual I didn't fount anything.

I didn't understand wich is the button's combination that allow to perform the factory reset.

LucaPi Connect it to your Mac and move the NewFiles folder and the GUDATE.GCD file to the trash. Then you need to empty the trash can and unplug the Edge and allow it to reboot.

If deleting the NewFiles folder and the Gupdate.gcd did not allow it to boot up I would suggest contacting support directly using this link. https://support.garmin.com/

No, do not format your 530. You can safely clear user data and setting to restore it to factory. Clearing User Data and Settings Link

In the meantime I've a windows computer in my hand in this moment. What can I do in Windows environment?

Somewhere I read to format the Edge 530 in order to clean the file system and reaboot the unit. Is it safe?

No, do not format your 530. You can safely clear user data and setting to restore it to factory. Clearing User Data and Settings Link

I'm not able to perform the clearing at all since I can't access to the Edge. When I try to boot, the unit starts with a beep and after the loop begin.

There's no possibility to access to any kind of menu.

Please tell me how to solve.

I suppose that the sulution should be reinstall the firmware on the old one, but I don't know how to do it.

I deleted the file .gcd but htere's no newfiles folder on my unit.

Is there any button combination that allow an hard reset of the edge? I looked arond on the internet but I didn't found anything.

i trued to contact the Italian German support, unfortunately they told me that doesn't worth to repair it so I've to buy a new one.

i'm quite upset because I bought it just less than 3 years ago.
