I have an Edge 530 and the Garmin speed sensor and cadence sensor. The speed sensor is on the front hub. I also have a Planet Bike Protege 8 wired cyclometer with the magnet on the front wheel. I did a very precise wheel roll-out measurement and entered the same wheel size in both the Garmin and the Planet Bike. While riding the mileage is exactly the same to the hundredth of the mile. When I stop both units auto pause. When I start again the Planet Bike unit picks up from the first wheel rotation but the Garmin takes a bit of time (several wheel rotations - probably 20 or 30 ft) before resuming. On a short ride it isn't much of a difference. On a long ride it starts adding up. Every stop the Garmin gets further behind. I just did a 65 mile ride and the Garmin was about a quarter mile behind the Planet Bike and also a quarter mile behind my buddies Bontrager and his Strava via an iPhone. Is this a fixable issue or just another Garmin "feature"? Thans.
