Going off course then it tries to direct you back to start

Does anyone have a fix for this? Anytime i go off course it recalculates and directs you back to the start of your course.Im seriously sick of this course/navigation issue.ive had the 530 for around a month surely its better than this

  • Thanks for taking the time to explain

  • I am having the same issue. It seems that it tries to get the rider back to the point where they departed the course, rather than directing the rider to the point on the intended course closest to their current position. This logic might make sense in a competition ride, where the goal is to ride every inch of a prescribed course and departing from the course causes a penalty; but it is not so helpful for recreational rides, where you want to be able to make adjustments on the fly. Hopefully Garmin will give us a better option for recreation rides other than to just turn recalculation off.

  • Yes, the Garmins "prefer" to direct you back to where you left.

The 1030+ gives you other options. The 530 might not because the buttons are already being used for other features.
