How to make edge 530 sync courses from the phone app over bluetooth?

Hello,

I am trying to send a course from garmin connect phone app (android) when outside thus only on bluetooth connection. I am sending the course and it says a positive "All good, your course has been sent" (or something) but the course never shows on the device. This works flawlessly for my forerunner 730XT for example which I ended up resorting to do the navigation in the end. It synced OK when I returned home, which was useless to me.

Is there any "sync" action somewhere in the menu tree? Any tricks I could do to make this happen, but without stopping the activity recording.

Edit: The device runs the latest updates (v5.50).

Now that you can sync Komoot tours to Garmin Connect, I should think you can achieve this using GRouteLoader IQ Widget, which can load Garmin Connect and RWGPS routes without ending activity.

It takes a few seconds to send the course over but when you do "Send course to device" it just schedules it for the next sync.

You can force a sync using the "spinner" icon in top right corner of the app.

Thanks for the reply. Indeed this is how it works. I now figured out what is wrong and my question was not correctly phrased. My problem was that I wanted to sync a course mid-ride without having to terminate the activity. Turns out, you cannot do that and bluetooth was irrelevant. I tested with bluetooth and wifi and there is no way to upload a course to the Edge without terminating an activity.

I don't use Komoot myself, so can't guarantee, but do try it.

Hey, thank you very much for this! Easier with RWGPS but given that with the new courses API strava and komoot routes show up in connect, it works indirectly with both. A bit of pain to have to know the route code but still better than having to break the activity in pieces. I just need to make sure the end to end process works and then I will post back here.
