ClimbPro and navigation instructions overlap causes FW 5.50 to crash

Tried with the beta before 5.50, but today it happened with 5.50 as well.

Here is the sequence of the events:

- Starred a route in Strava, it appeared automatically on my 530 - all good here!

- As I was following the route, at one point it triggered the ClimbPro

- As ClimbPro was on my screen, navigation instructions came up telling me which way to turn 

- Once Nav instructions were followed, it went back to ClimbPro (so far so good)

- When the climb was completed, it said so "Climb completed" and trying to return to the Nav screen (with the map) it crashed....

- Auto-restarted, all good and continued from where it crashed, except that it had to recalculate the route - not much of a problem.

Other remarks:

- Strava segments work just fine

- ClimbPro works just fine IF it does not contain overlapping navigation instructions 

- basically everything works just great except for the above combination.

Anyone else with similar experiences?

Happy to supply whatever file is needed.

    I think I saw the same yesterday on a long ride.  I was watching the Mal screen as my main screen w/ 2 data fields.  I hit a climb pro section and nearly immediate after it said the climb was done my device shuffle .  I don’t think mine started again by itself, so I powered it up and resumed ok.

    I’m on 5.51 beta and this occurred about 4-4.5 hrs into my ride - no climb were seen before this point in the ride.

    As I’m on the beta I’ll look at their feedback submission info there and submit any detail that I can.  First crash I’ve noted with my 530, but if it’s climbpro related the fact that I live in a very flat region may explain it.

    Yes, I've had multiple crashes at the end of ClimbPro sections - been going on for months. Like you, I suspect it's related to simultaneous navigation prompts.

    Same problems here, firmware 5.50, see logs in:

    Not sure whether it perfectly correlates with ClimbPro though.

    I don't understand what you mean about overlapping navigation instructions. ClimbPro only comes up when you have an active navigation course. Is there some way to activate ClimbPro without navigation instructions?

    I have used firmware 5.50 to follow a course created in Garmin Connect with ClimbPro activated and it seems to work fine so far. Could the Strava course be triggering the firmware bug?

    This would not match my observation exactly. Some crashes could be Strava related, but I had at least one crash without any clear reason. At least I believe that no obvious trigger existed.

    I am not the original author of the thread. As far as I understand the author all their crashes occur during climb pro being 'on screen'.
