New Edge 530 Public Beta 5.48 Now Available

A new Beta software (5.48) for the Edge 530 has been released. Full change log, instructions, and software for installing the beta can be found Here.

  • For any issues that you encounter please fill out the form included in the download and attach it to an email to [email protected]. Please note that you may not get a response to the email unless we need more information on the issue you report.
  • Although this software is believed to be reliable, it has not yet been released for production and should be used at your own risk.

(Note: Please include a copy of your debugging folder in your response email if you experience any issues)

Changes made from version 5.44 to 5.48:

  • Fixed an issue with sensor connectivity.
  • Added diagnostics to help track down an issue where the device can lock up.

    Tested today - all good! No HR dropouts in 1:30 h ride. Thanks Garmin!

    Has there been any progress with resolving the crashes at the end of ClimbPro sections? I submitted data a while back but have not seen any mention of it in change logs. It happened to me again the other day on 5.31. I'll update to this beta in case the debug data is related to this issue.

    I have done 100km MTB session with ClimbPro active. Fortunately haven't noticed any problems with that.

    I've had 2 x resets since updating to 5.44 then 5.48. I was on 5.10 since it was release without issue.

    The resets happened within a few seconds of pressing the start button, one on an indoor ride (indoor profile) and one on an outdoor ride.

    Have reported to Garmin with details as requested above ^^

    Garmin asked for some additional information which has been sent to them.

    Since then, I factory reset the 530 and loaded back in all the settings.fit, locations, totals etc etc and paired it to my phone again.So far, no resets when starting both Indoor and Outdoor rides.

    Today i have many satellite signal lost,i've tried only with gps on,GPS/glonass on and GPS/ Galileo on,the same signal lost

    Hi, plse advise, My Garmin 530 Edge runs 5.10. I do not prefer installing beta's. What is the official/released/non-beta version between 5.10 and 5.48? As I never get any update, though there are many versions in between.

    5.10 is the latest available, however it appears some units are now being delivered with 5.20 installed

    I confirm. Bought a week ago at bike-discount.de has a pre-installed version 5.20

    Still experiencing random restarts. 

    Riding today, wanted to select a segment, and while in the segment selection and about to enable it, the unit crapped out. 

    Also still an issue, occasional random "sensor connected" notifications mid ride. 

    How long has the EDGE 530 and 830 been out? Still should be considered a Beta product. 
    Can't Garmin just admit they screwed the pooch on this unit without denying it constantly.
    Of all the riders I know that use a 830 or 530, they all have complaints. Luckily in my part of the world the issues are not GPS connectivity issues like those in Europe. Had that been the case I would have ditched the brand. 

    Had this been Apple, for instance, there would probably have been a lawsuit already.
