Device gets stuck during "Transferring to mass storage"

- Device turns off after displaying "Loading courses, workouts, and locations"
- Reset does not work
- Software update cannot be installed because the device is constantly turning off (or couldn't be found while getting stucked)
- Now device gets stuck at "transfer to mass storage"

Any ideas, what I should try next?

    You could try this

    Force to Mass Storage:

    1. Power the device off
    2. Press and hold the lap button while plugging into USB
    3. Wait 10 to 15 seconds and device should go to mass storage

    Hello aweatherall,

    the last status was that the device got stuck at "Transferring to mass storage...". After I pressed the button to turn it off, it immediately restarts and now stucks at "Loading profiles...".

    You could try intercepting the restart with steps 2 and 3 above.

    If that does not work you might need to try a reset. Again you may need to jump in a step 2 after you force it to power down.

    Non-prompted Non-Vol Clear - Clears NV and deletes all FIT files including Activities, Courses, Workouts.

    1. Turn device off
    2. Hold Lap/Reset and Start/Stop
    3. Press and release the power button
    4. Continue to hold only Lap/Reset and Start/Stop
    5. Release Lap/Reset and Start/Stop when the Garmin Logo is cleared
    6. The unit will restart and clear non-vol
