Regular crash when near to radio tower

I am experiencing regular crashes when being on the top of the mountain and near to the radio tower.

I attach two activity files. You can see the power up event at 12:09 and 12:19 respectively.

Ok, I will - relucantly ;-) - switch to the Garmin provided map for a while and see if it still occurs.

had a look at your files with the FitFileRepairTool

could you repeat the ride without following a course, just free-ride

my guess is the course is the cause

I did not follow a course. Was wondering about these events too. I suspect they come from segment detection.

dont You get file system error message if you plug into a PC via USB cable ? in Garmin\Debug(ging) folder and its subfolder should be a few txt files (err.log or on different name) . it contains probably the reason of the shutdown, pls share them

ah, ss i see You have a Mac (only?), which is not showing any error message if there is any issue with the Edge's file system. (if you just pull out the usb cable from Edge and forgot to dismount, its file system could be became corrupted ) But if you have such a shutdown which happens exactly after 12mins +-few secs, it could be memory error (writing data onto bad sector and shutting down), so probably You need to fullformat your device (not quickformat) )

I further checked the filesystem. It is fine.

Are you using the Garmin supplied maps or have you loaded some other maps?

Can you give the map position of the radio tower?

I am using openmtbmap plus the garmin provided trailforks map.

the radio tower is at N49° 24.224' E8° 43.707' or 49.403705, 8.728438 (https://goo.gl/maps/mbHxdQLE1Hds7JkM9)

It apparently has a very strong signal. In the past I had my phone crash regularily in its vicinity.

The crash appears to be associated with map handling and not electrical interference.
