My edge 530 screen stopped working. I can set the cycle alarm and tricker it with the app on my phone. I can also see that it's turned on in the app. But nothing will show up on the screen.

Did you try pressing power 10 seconds?

Also if that does not help it might just be brightness…
I tried this for 10 seconds did not work. How can I get a replacement or my money back. this is the second 530 unit that I have the same problem. I think I will never a garmin ever again.
I had this problem with my unit last year.
Garmin support was very bad (I bought my unit during a trip abroad) so I had to solve it by myself.
After trying all kinds of resets, (i knew it was working beacause i could record an activity and save it), it became clear that the problem was in the dysplay itself.
As said in another reply, the screen connector popped from the logic board. It's tricky to remove the screen to reconnect it, but it's doable.
After putting the connector back in place, I added a drop of hot glue on the top of the connector, so now it's always pressed against the logic board. No problems so far.
Thank you very much it worked perfectly..
So I parked my bike for almost 8 months indoor due to surgery and yesterday I turned my Garmin edge 530 and it turned on but very low in battery I put it on charge and then I installed the latest update 9.75
I then put it again on charge and left it for the next day and when I tried to turn it on no luck no beep nothing it was dead in the water
so I googled and found this solution I held the power button for exactly 10 seconds it made a short beep and nothing after that, I put it down for 10 seconds then held the power button for another 10 seconds and it powered on normally.
Thank you very much
Yes they do that. You will want to use power off always (not sleep mode). Don’t just press the power button shortly to switch off but instead From the “on” state press and hold the power button till the menu appears and then select “power off”
