Poor GPS+Galileo track MTB

I just got my Edge 530 a few days ago. So far I have done 2 road rides using GPS+Galileo and accuracy was superb. Yesterday I did a mountain bike ride using the same settings and the GPS track was awful. It was not even close in several areas. Is this related to using Galileo or is it possibly speed sensor calibration? I have the speed sensor on my MTB but not on my road bike.

There is a known issue with Galileo. For the time being you may get dodgy tracks using it.

Thanks! I was pretty bummed when my track so screwed up after some pretty flawless road ride tracks. Guess I'll change to GPS+GLONASS for the time being and keep an eye out for an update. Galileo looks like it could be pretty great once it's fully deployed...

For me with GPS+GLONASS works fine. But I'm waiting for a fix because I hope more accuracy with Galileo

Forgive me if I'm wrong but I thought if you were using a speed SENSOR then that is what measures your speed and distance by default and gps is only for location purposes.

The speed sensor will provide distance and speed, but not position. The poster was complaining of a poor GPS track.

I had the same issue. Changed to just GPS for a few mtb rides. Today I did a long mtb with a friend with an iPhone. We rode the entire ride together. He recorded 85 segments on Strava. I only picked up 37. My GPS track is all over the place and not alligned with the trails on the base map. His phone track is pretty close to right on the money. I have now tried GPS + GLONASS with no luck. GPS gives the same bad results. I have also recently set it to Every Second Recording to try to prevent this problem, but that did not improve things. What is going on here?

are you using the new GPS chipset beta or the last baseline?

I notice the same thing. My Apple watch records a better track on MTB trails. My local park is not very big so I will often ride the same trail more than 1 time in a ride and the tracks with the 530 are never even close.
