I will wait six months and see how the 530 goes after it's first bug fix update :)

I really hope that Garmin have got their act together with this release and that it's more stable and less buggy than the 520 has been, time will tell. It does look like a good update with some great new features and better battery life, but after my experience with the 520 I'm happy to wait for a while and see how it goes.

I must say I was really excited in upgrading my old basic unit to a modern one with all the metrics and features especially after DC Rainmakers review.  Unfortunately after checking in on this forum over the last couple of months things have seemed to get from bad to worst and my excitement has all but gone..

Ricky Bobby you are not an early adopter,  you have purchased a finished product from Garmin at a high asking price which should be faultless.  We are not Beta tester on here we are consumers purchasing a finished product.  I do like when Garmin stuff works and some of their ideas are great but I can really see how Garmin users would be some of the most disappointed consumers.  How can a GPS unit just reset during an activity this day and age?

Garmin you need to treat your customers ALOT better, and get your quality control sorted, sounds like both hardware and software on this unit both have a lot to be desired.  Sorry but I have been hanging for this unit and now I am just frustrated :(

I will definitely be waiting 6 months to see if things improve or other manufactures one up Garmin

Thanks Wim Kion this nailed it. Best Post EVER!  "features first, stability later" - Garmin need a feature to just turn off all the features and have a GPS unit that works!  People care about the basics, I just want to track my ride!
