I will wait six months and see how the 530 goes after it's first bug fix update :)

I really hope that Garmin have got their act together with this release and that it's more stable and less buggy than the 520 has been, time will tell. It does look like a good update with some great new features and better battery life, but after my experience with the 520 I'm happy to wait for a while and see how it goes.

I will join you - more looking for the 830. But I am not keen on getting the early adaptor pain.

- Battery life

- map/navigation issues

- Screen quality

- heavy bugs

may need some time to be recognised properly. We will see how bad they did this time. First thing for the 530 is committed, the back button fail.

Probably a good idea to wait a bit. I've already returned my first unit (bad buttons) and on my first ride with the second unit it locked up mid-ride and I lost about 1/2 mile of stats. Luckily it booted back up and continued with the ride data. That's what I get for being an early adopter.

Damn I might not live long enough.... In Australia they are not exactly flying off the shelves.... So the stock will probably be first gen for a long time.

A friend bought one, it locked up on his first ride and he promptly returned it for refund.

Good idea. there are a ton of bugs and GPS accuracy is very poor. I going to give it another week, but will most likely be returning it. GPS accuracy doesn't update and live track didn't work today. was over a mile off form my actual location. The doubling of my distance traveled seems to have settled down.

My wife is asking me what I wanted for my birthday in July and I wanted the 530 but not anymore . I'll Find something else. Just replaced my Edge 510 battery and it works just great and Also have the Fenix. Garmin lost $300 from me. I'll find something else I want.

After three rides with my 530, I'm already thinking to return the device. So many problems with it.

Seems like Garmin tried to compensate basic features like stability, accuracy and reliability with fancy new functions ...

Will wait for the quality of the next firmware. If it's still that bad, then I'm done with Garmin.
