My 1050 battery life is actually beating that of my 1040!

I mount my 1050 on the out front mount, and carry my 1040 (non-solar) in my pocket. The 1040 is always in battery save mode, and the 1050 has battery save mode disabled. I connect both units to my Windows desktop after each ride and copy the ride files to my hard drive.  I have been using the cables that came with the respective units.

The 1040 is connected using a USB-A port and the 1050 uses the USB-C port on the front panel of my desktop computer.  The 1040 goes into storage device mode pretty quickly - I copy the ride file and remove the unit from my computer.  The battery level usually does not increase.  The 1050 seems to take a lot longer time to go into storage device mode, and meanwhile, the USB-C port is giving it a few percentage point boost in battery life. Some days, the 1050 ends up with a higher battery level than it showed before my ride.

The past week or so, I have been using the 1050's cable for both units.  The 1040 still changes to a storage device more quickly, so even if it's getting charged more quickly than with the USB-A to USB-C cable, it doesn't increase the battery charge level very much.

I fully charged both units in late October and have ridden over 53 hours since.  The 1040 is at 48% and the 1050 is at 51%.

Until I go on a 24 hour ride using navigation the entire time (which won't be in this lifetime), I'm going to be OK with the 1050's battery life.
