Directional Arrows While Navigating

Does anyone know if you can limit the directional arrows to about 1 kilometer ahead?
They're currently spread out over the entire course, and it's difficult to choose when the course crosses over itself...

  • I'd say zoom in a bit more?

I can't tell how densely packed your roads are, but in the netherlands my only real gripe with these is it doesn't remember the level of zoom I set when I allow it to auto zoom in or out.

As for the progress I'd use a distance traveled and distance to go data field, maybe in the edge maps datafield from ciq?

  • It's not a matter of zooming...

Another example: Where to go at the point where the course crosses itself.

Problem is that the directional arrows are placed over the entire course!

  • It's pretty obvious that you have to go straight ahead at the crossing...

  • On 1040 - very similar but not quite - it is a matter of zooming.  If I follow courses that cross, I navigate at a zoom showing approx 500ft / 300m — this certainly helps by showing only the arrows on the immediate upcoming course and it is clear at a cross-over which way to follow

  • After a ride with other Garmin users, I discovered it is a 1050 issue. By the 1030+, the arrows are limited to about 1 km ahead with the same course. Here's another example of a test course:

  • By the way, it used to work fine. This started happening after recent software updates.

I'm curious how other 1050 users experience directional arrows.
