Anyone know if the Edge 1050 will have weather radar like the edge 550/850? "REAL-TIME WEATHER UPDATES - Monitor the weather, and make more informed decisions in-ride with radar and wind direction overlays"

The other option that has worked well for me in the past is to take your eyes off the garmin for a few seconds and look up at the sky?

Fair point, but why stop there? Anyone can simply read the roadside mile or kilometer markers and use a watch to calculate their speed. Well-maintained roads usually have plenty of signs showing where…

Unfortunately, the new firmware 28.33 doesn't include a real-time weather widget. It also lacks several other features that were included in the new Edge 850 firmware.

that is not a major upgrade, just a minor quick one. i assume they will use unified firmware later for the x50 series (now there is a "mismatch" that 7.09 vs 28.33 but later it will be similar with the 1050, and the x40 series will be on a different one imho)

Fair point, but why stop there? Anyone can simply read the roadside mile or kilometer markers and use a watch to calculate their speed. Well-maintained roads usually have plenty of signs showing where to turn and how many miles or kilometers remain. Fun fact, though: some people actually ride their bikes over distances longer than they can see ahead, and some live in terrain where you can’t see very far at all. Cheers!
