The beta update 28.20 killed my Edge 1050

Hello,

i hadn't had any problems with the beta versions until now, but version 28.20 killed my Edge 1050.

What I did:

- Updated to 28.20

- Planned a tour on Komoot and loaded the GPX file onto the Edge 1050.

- Started the tour and after half a kilometer, the Edge crashed and has been stuck in a boot loop ever since.

Does anyone have any idea how I can get out of this?

We are glad that you were able to resolve this Bademeister317 but we would request anyone else who experiences something similar with a beta installation to submit a bug report here so we can gather information…

The next solutions are:

Connect to a Pc/laptop with GC running should force it out of the loop and into disc read mode. I would also ensure I have the garmin connect app running on the laptop/pc

thank you for the tips. That helped and Edge is working again. Unfortunately all settings and data have been lost. It's annoying but that can happen when using beta software. It's my own…

Pair back to Garmin connect and set up like a new unit and it should pull all your settings into the new unit.

the 1050 syncs most settings.

Have to tried a soft reboot? Hold the power button down for 15 seconds.

Hello kinboy,
that was the first thing I tried. Unfortunately the Edge remains stuck in the boot loop.

The next solutions are:

Next is a hard reset (clears all settings but most should pull again from GC with a sync). Instructions off Garmin

First, power off the device by holding the power button for about 30 seconds.Then, press and hold both the Lap/Reset and Start/Stop buttons. While holding those two buttons, briefly press the power button to turn the device on. Release the power button but continue holding the Lap/Reset and Start/Stop buttons until the device beeps or enters a reset mode. Finally, release all buttons. This process should resolve issues like freezing, crashing, or being stuck in a reboot loop.

That worked. Except for the Garmin radar all sensors were restored and the profiles were back too.

Today I made the first ride with 28.20 and the track was also synced from Komoot. But the ride passed without this bug. Garmin = Lottery

Coming in late on this, glad you got it sorted.

I can't locate any release notes about these upgrades. Can anyone tell me where they can be located?
