WIFI doesn't connect until restarting device

At the end of a ride, my 1050 fails to connect to WIFI and sync. It just says "connecting" and never connects. If I restart the device it works fine. But it's very annoying having to restart the device at the end of every ride. Is anyone else experiencing this issue? 

  • About a week ago, I used Garmin Express (Mac + USB cable) to update my 1050 to 28.33 (no WiFi connectivity and, I assume, low BT data rate was throttling any other way to update).  I then re-entered the password for my home WiFi on my 1050 and it appeared to behave correctly each time it was powered up and used (automatically connected to home WiFi, uploaded saved activity). Two days ago via WiFi, it then also unprompted downloaded 28.34 and I got it to update to this version.  So far on 28.34, my 1050 continues to automatically connect to WiFi and upload saved activities - it will be interesting to see if there is now stability for WiFI connectivity in this latest software version.

  • Anche a me dopo aggiornamento  28.34 trova la rete Wi-Fi ma poi non riesce a connettersi ad essa….toscana Italia 

  • Non so' se e' stato un caso e se può' essere d'aiuto per qualcuno ma io ho risolto eliminando la rete wifi tramite app del cell e sempre da cell rimpostandola....e da li funziona di nuovo

  • Only recently started using new 1050. Stunned to see virtually all display signs of WIFI connectivity after booting and connecting removed (cf 530 & 1030Plus) - WIFI syncing successfully seems the only way to tell. Have had the failure to connect to WIFI and sync after rides a couple of times with not even power cycling making it reconnect. Only solution seems to be to remove network and add back at which point it connects. Had this happen with two networks so far. Using 29.22

  • Purchased 15 days ago, it also won't sync via Wi-Fi. I have to re-enter the network password for it to sync. This is a recurring problem affecting numerous units.

  • Any progress here? This is still broken, and has been broken for the entirety I've used the 1050. I have to use the app to upload, and this takes about 10 minutes for a 3 hour ride. 

    I can delete/re-add the WiFi network and it will sync. But the second the 1050 powers off, WiFi is forever broken and will never upload again. It's tragic.
