1050 in endless reboot loop

The new 1050 I bought today has been restarting in a continuous loop since the update to the latest firmware 13.13. The solution already found here of ‘pressing all 3 buttons’ unfortunately does not work. Is there a solution to the problem?

I had this with a 1040 and what I did was

- Hold down the lap button and plug into USB of a PC (not Mac)
- Open the device and delete every file that wasn't write protected
- Unplug

I tried all the other reset techniques but this was the only thing that got it back. It deletes all your data. But better than a brick.

I held the power button until ‘Switch off’ appeared and was able to switch off the 1050 on the 20th attempt, before that it always restarted. After switching it off, I was able to reset it following these instructions:

All settings and values were lost, but this was not a problem as the 1050 was new.

Schalten Sie das Gerät aus.

Halten Sie die beiden Tasten an der Unterseite des Gerätes (LAP und START/STOP) gedrückt.

Schalten Sie das Gerät ein (Einschalttaste nur kurz drücken und wieder loslassen).

Der Garmin-Schriftzug erscheint. Sobald der Bildschirm *** wird und bleibt, lassen Sie beide Tasten (LAP und START/STOP) los.

Möglicherweise bleibt der Bildschirm dunkel. Die beiden Tasten müssen nicht länger als 30 Sekunden gedrückt werden.

Das Gerät benötigt einen Augenblick.

Das Gerät wird nun zurückgesetzt und startet mit der Einstellungen der Sprache und Ersteinrichtung.

HINWEIS: Nach dem Reset lassen Sie das Gerät ungefähr eine halbe Stunde an EINEM Ort mit freier Sicht zum Himmel, um die GPS-Satellitendaten zu aktualisieren.

Every time I sync to Garmin Express, I end up with the same problem. The Edge goes into a boot loop.

I like the Edge 1050 and the feature set, but I'm so tired of dealing with Garmin's software issues on nearly every device (remember when the Vector 3 pedals came out?)

I'm seriously considering Wahoo as my next cycling computer.
