Battery save mode - Show map at turns

Hello,

on yesterdays ride (befor the displac froze completely - again) I was also testing the battery saver mode mid ride. I noticed, that the display did not turn on for route turn notifications, I only had the beeps to tell me somethings coming up. I tried both settings (on/of) for hide maps with no effect here. That would be very important for navigating on long riders where you need to extend the battery life.

  • Is battery save mode different from having the backlight timeout set to automatically turn the backlight off after a period of time (I have mine set to turn off after 30 seconds)? With my 1050 display configured to do that, and with the latest 12.18 FW, when I'm navigating a course, as I approach a turn the backlight comes on, the display switches to the map if not already there, and I see and hear the navigation prompts. 30 seconds later, if there's not another turn, the backlight goes off again.

With those settings, based on the battery percentage used on shorter rides, I should be able to get around 600km with the battery fully charged before needing to recharge it.

  • Hello,

yes it is different as it turns the display off completely, therefore maximising runtime even more.  But display timeout is a workaround to get some more time out of the device, that is true.

I am currently testing the Coros Dura for upcoming Ultras. Battery runtime there is really impressive and with the latest Firmware it is totally useable and good. But I miss the display of the 1050, hope it will get useable in the next 1-2 months.
