Touchscreen freezes 1050

First ride witth the new 1050.

TouchScreen totaly freezes for complete ride. Even when powered of and on several times.

No reaction or whatever  with gloves off.

Taken of the mount in home everything seems te be allright temperature outside was 4 degrees above freezing point

Didnt have this with the 1040 solar, 1030 and the older models.

What tofdo now?

    il problema a me si è presentato anche utilizzando il dispositivo in modalità indoor, quindi con una temperatura di 15° C.

    Da quello che ho visto lo schermo cala di luminosità in automatico (nonostante la luce della stanza sia sempre la stessa) ed in quella condizione il touch del 1050 non funziona.

    Se prima di iniziare l'attività premo il pulsante che si utilizza per l'accensione lo schermo aumenta la sua luminosità ed il touch diventa gestibile....

    Nelle uscite esterne (+10° C) non sono mai riuscito ad utilizzare con i guanti che utilizzo con il cellulare...

    the problem also occurred when using the device in indoor mode, therefore with a temperature of 15° C.
    
    From what I saw, the screen automatically drops in brightness (even though the light in the room is always the same) and in that condition the touch on the 1050 does not work.
    
    If before starting the activity I press the button used to turn it on, the screen increases its brightness and the touch becomes manageable....
    
    When going outside (+10° C) I have never been able to use the gloves I use with my cell phone...

  • This ride was with gloves only. But they have touchscreen fingers. I didn't bother to take them off since the touchscreen was working fine. No reason to freeze my hands off if it was functioning lol.

  • I'm sorry I do not know what you are referring to. Follow which software update? I am on the newest software.

  • Thanks ! It's kind of encouraging, I'll happily take another feedback if you do test it again in the cold. It would mean some device are defective and others are not, prompting to reach out to garmin for a aftersale switch even if it means a few weeks without the device (in France they don't seem to propose the same deal you had !)

  • For information, so everyone can review what we are talking about, here is a video I shot today (did my best no to cash recording it, therefore the angle is kind of sketchy but we can see every aspect of the problem AND the buttons working properly !).

  • I'm on a the beta program so this is a beta software update. You need to activate the beta program to get them, but anyone can join.

  • That is similar to the problem i had but It gets worse then that even. This is the video I sent garmin CS the touchscreen was completely unresponsive but buttons still worked.
