touch screen problem

my touchscreen freezes every few minutes. sometimes it works after a few swipes or taps. if i stop my ride, turn the edge off and on again it works again for a while. is this a software problem or can i fix this?

Thanks all for your participation in the Garmin forums.

We are investigating reports of touchscreen performance issues on Edge 1050 (especially while riding in cold, wet conditions).

yesterday i did a ride and the weather was warmer in belgium. when it was more than 14 degrees on my garmin i had no problem with the touchscreen. when the temperature later on the ride dropped below 14…

First ride witth the new 1050.

TouchScreen totaly freezes for complete ride. Even when powered of and on several times.

Didnt have this with the 1040 solar, 1030 and the older models.

What to fo now?

Ciao avevi risolto ? Il mio ogni volta che lo uso per una attività ,il touchscreen si blocca se invece non lo sto usando in corsa ma da fermo in casa è perfetto,io ora contatto Garmin e me lo faccio sostituire ha appena 10 giorni

Are you able to consistently reproduce the touchscreen becoming frozen? If possible, a video displaying this behavior would be helpful.
What steps are you taking to power the Edge 1050 off and back on?

While recording an activity, pressing the power button will lock and unlock the touchscreen. While the touchscreen is locked, swiping between data screens is enabled but no other touch inputs (taps) are accepted. Button presses are always enabled.

If riding in wet conditions, water or sweat on the display can cause adverse performance.
If you're experiencing similar behavior with an Edge 1050, please reply to this message letting me know that I can reach out to you for more details.

Nel mio caso non accetta input touch dopo circa dieci minuti che avvio una attivita,poi riprende per un po' e dopo si riblocca cosi fino al termine della attivita',per una attivita che dura tre ore posso dire che il mio 1050 non accetta input touch per la meta' del tempo , io non guido mai quando piove e quando registro non premo mai il pulsante di accensione, ho pure mandato in assistenza Garmin Italia hanno eseguito master reset -aggiornamento software-aggiornamento mappe e mi hanno consigliato di utilizzarlo senza sensore di cadenza e velocita',ieri e tornato a casa oggi ho fatto un attivita' ma niente ha migliorato e rimasto il problema come prima
