I disagree. It is kind of a Garmin issue because there is and has been an industry standard for mounting computers for a long time. This is why it has not been necessary to by a new aftermarket mount even when changing brands, it only required changing the insert. Then along came the 1050 and lo and behold none of the aftermarket mounts work anymore, all because and engineer moved the mounting lug. Why did it move? I would assume for better weight balance as this computer is substantially heavier than Garmin&rsquo;s previous offerings. I think the a/m will catch up eventually, but until then we, the consumers, will have to come up with some creative solutions. I have posted a simple solution on another thread. For Specialized SL7 Stem mount it only requires a 1.5 mm spacer which can be cut from a sheet of Alexander or similar material, I reused the existing M4 bolt. No contact while rotating and buttons are still accessible. My total cost $13. I hope this helps.

I didn't want to wait for someone to fix this issue, so I devised my own. I had some JB Weld Steelstik on hand, so I put a drill bit same size as the M4 bolt through the bolt hole, aligned and taped the drill bit down, then applied some JB Weld around the drill bit to build up a 10mm spacer. After 15 minutes, I carefully removed the drill bit and let cure for another 2hrs. Using a bench grinder, I shaped the JB Weld until it was close to the 6-7mm spacer I wanted, sanded a bit, and then created the correct radius so the face lays flat and square to the faceplate. M4 20mm bolt is on the way so not painted and mounted yet, but here are some pics of my homemade solution.
