3x crash during +300km trip

And here we are again...

Yesterday I went for a +300km trip and while navigating the Edge 1040 SOLAR,  spontaneously crashed/broke down.

New Garmin way of saying: time for a break???

There was really nothing going on...Again dissapointed with the device, which costed a small fortune.

Anyone here suffered the same lately and how to solve it?

Am curious about your response.

Kind regards,

Ronald

  • Sorry for your experience...as I always say in this forums..with garmin sometimes one or two hard resets makes wonders..personal experience...
    I would try that..

  • I just bought a 1040.
I updated everything and downloaded the latest maps and software. I drove the first trip without navigation (1.5h). It turned off three times during the trip for no apparent reason.

    No further data was recorded.
I can't slam on the brakes every time and wait two minutes for the device to restart. Rage
    GARMIN, it's your turn!

  • Hi MaxR6,

Sorry to hear same issue on your device.

Unfortunatly I think you have to get used to Garmins hick-ups every now and then.
Developers are not always taking our issues for 'serious' so it will atke some time before issues are getting solved.

Meanwile Garmin develops new products against Rolls Royce pricings, which we need to accept.
Or deny and switch to competion like Wahoo/Hammerhead and others.
And even with knowing that Garmin doesn't sem to care.

I am still hoping for the best though.
