27.14 still crashing

Software 27.14.

Maps activated according to 'configure maps' page:

TopoActive Europe 2025.10

Garmin DEM Map EU 2023.10

Garmin Geocode Map EU 2024.10

Garmin ClimbPro EU, East 2025.10

Unfortunatelly, the device keeps crashing when navigating. At least 1 crash per 20km.

It is also annoying that after the restart an activity is stopped and doesn't resume automatically. So if you didn't notice the crash you have your workout spoiled (statistics, training progress, social media, and so on).

Currently I'm on 27.14, but the problems in minimum exists since February (can't remember which FW version has been in use there).
On an average one reset every 100 km. The 1040 then…

Same here again. Looks like a repeattedly problem.
Getting really sick of it and the Garmin Edge 1040.
Yesterday no issues at all, today when navigating the track stop loading when at 39% and reboots endlesly…

Hello everyone experiencing this crashing issue. I deleted the TopPo maps with Garmin Express, unpaired the device, and restarted it. Then I paired it and reinstalled the same map. Since then, I haven't had any crashes.

Maybe this will help someone else.

Damn, while I haven't had such problems with restarts during activities so far, during the last four activities in two of them this occurred :/

In the first one even twice :/

In the case of the first activity (with restarting twice and losing almost 100km of distance and data on them) I thought the cause would be the use of GroupRide.

I had that enabled.

However, during the second activity GroupRide was not enabled and yet the reboot occurred anyway :/

Garmin-Blake are you able to get the E1040s working properly, or has the holiday already started and we can dream of the E1040s working properly?

Same here unfortunately, I sometimes get a spontaneous reboot after 75-100km. Just really annoying, at

east now I know there is no automatic restart of the ride after the reboot.

I've followed peggatsch instructions and I haven't experienced reboot so far (3 rides 45-48km long each). Looks promising :-)

My Garmin 1040 frequently crashes with firmware 27.14 and latest maps installed. Around every 2 hours I experience a random reboot. This is extremely annoying.

setting: following course with TBT navigation, climb pro disabled, using map screen with 2 data fields and elevation profile, auto-zoom disabled, normal map details, course imported via Connect App

also: after rebooting the 1040 is successfully reconnecting to my power meter, but does not show (and record) any values.
