Updated to version 24.55 but does not show update for 25.24

I received the update screen for version 24.55 and proceeded with it.

After my Garmin 1040 Solar rebooted, no additional updates were available - in special for version 25.24.

Here are the checks and actions I performed:

Manually checked for updates via Menu > System > About > Check Updates, but the screen displayed a large circle with the message: “No available updates.”
Verified the “About” screen, which confirmed that the current version is 24.55.
Reinstalled Garmin Express (version 7.24.0.0, the latest release).
Attempted the update using a second MacBook.
Restarted the MacBook.
Rebooted the Garmin Edge device.

Unfortunately, none of these steps resolved the issue.

I suspect there might be an internal lock or restriction within Garmin update system preventing the update from proceeding, or something along those lines.

– Has anyone faced this same issue?

Version 25.25 has been released for all x40 Edge devices and contains fixes to prevent the Edge from becoming "stuck" between two versions.

This was a minor error affecting a small number of devices…

I had a similar problem during the early betas, the 24.54 update worked but the 25.xx update failed but without any message or indication. There was an update temporary directory on the 1040 which I deleted…

This came up on another thread and this suggestion worked.

Delete the contents of the Garmin\_updates folder and then try again to find the update.

I had a similar problem and managed to get the second update by asking the device itself to check for updates (via wifi). Go to the menu, system, about, check for updates.

My wife has an Edge 840. This morning it told her that a new version was available, so she installed it. That was 24.55. After our ride I tried to connect it to my Mac, but it would not see the device, despite rebooting everything. I then asked the device to check for an update. It found 25.24. I had to confirm twice to install it. Now I can connect it to the Mac and Express can see it.

My own Edge 1040 is still on 24.19 and Garmin Express tells me that there is no update available. But that is in line with Garmin's usual very slow release in Asia, which tends to be long after they say a new version is available. I wish the cheating would finally stop. That's why I bought my wife's Edge during a vacation...

I had a similar issue. This morning it prompt for update 24.45 after update to version 24.45 and it prompt new update 24.55 and finish update 24.55 the device rebooted and i only get version 24.45 display in system about device, and each time i did a software check it display no new update.

I've come across that on the Beta forum, but i tried and notice there is no _updates folder under Garmin/ folder. Mayber those are for the Beta 25.XX version and not the 24.55 official release.

The unit prompt update from 24.55 after updated to 24.45 but after completed and reboot it still display as 24.45. Check for new update and display no new update available.

Ok. This is a different issue. The solution I posted was for units that have made it 24.55, but are not getting the 25.24.

Let me do some digging.
