loss of sensor after putting the 1040 to sleep

Hi,

Every time I take a long break I put the edge 1040 to sleep to avoid the beeps from the varia, and every time when I come out of sleep, I lose all the sensors, hrm, 4iiii, varia, speed sensor, some times the HRM stays connected, but it's rare
I press the synchronization of the sensors when coming out of standby, but the search never takes place, so I have to completely stop the 1040 each time and restart it so that the sensors are recognized again.
This problem has been present for about 6 months, before I did not have this problem and I could get around it by synchronizing the sensors, now the sensor synchronization no longer works, only functional when the 1040 is first started.

It's annoying to know that before it worked well and without changing sensors, over the updates it no longer works, so it's definitely an update problem

Also, since the last 2 updates, the Varia disconnects again as before although you had found stability with the update preceding these last 2.

This 1040 tears our hair out of our heads, I keep it only for its autonomy, because even for a long bikepacking navigation, not being able to place poi and know the distance which separates us from the poi during the course, it's shameful that this feature is not working correctly

  • Sounds similar to what I see.  If I ever use the Edge out of range of my Varia radar, like if I take the Edge to my den to review its training data or if I only lock its screen and take it with me leaving my bike behind, 100% of the time, it is like my ANT+ stack crashes.  It won't find my radar anymore, and about 25% of the time, it won't find either or some of my HRM, Di2, or Rally pedals.  The only way back from this is to reboot the unit.  About 10% of the time, I also need to hard-reboot my radar too.

Happens occasionally when I sleep my Edge, maybe about 20% of the time.

  • Same here.  Hopefully 21.18 fixed that bug.  They say it fixed that bug when 1040 is re-booted mid-ride.

  • I just confirmed: this bug has been squashed!

  • I am hitting the same bug randomly on my Edge 530.  Connection to my both Di2 and power meter both gone randomly after waking up.  On the other hand the connection to my waist heart rate sensor never dropped

I have even tried with manually reconnect dropped devices from menu when the problem happened.  Sometimes sensors could come back but not always

Is there any firmware version update can fix this?

  • I used to have this problem, my fix was completely uninstalling the WIndField Connect IQ app, hasn't happened since. Not sure why that interaction exists!

  • Nope, still happened on my 21.18 (APAC). Hopeully v24 would fix it.
