Segment_List.fit stopping 1040 Solar from syncing.....frustrated!

I am really starting to get over this device. I have not been able to sync through wireless or the desktop and download software updates for quite some time. My rides seem to take and eternity to upload and I think that I have finally found the cause. When I sync with the desktop version of connect I get the error in the picture. I use the Garmin knowledge base to delete the file in question which looks like it is segment_list.fit but the sync just recreates the file again and I get the message all over again. I have turned off segments completely and the segments_list.fit seems to come back and prevent the device from syncing. I would really appreciate any help that anyone could provide to sort this out before I throw this thing in the bin :)

Same exact problem here and with several other friends as well. It is very clearly a bug on the Garmin side that they have not addressed.

I removed Strava live segments and has fixed the problem. Not ideal solution but there is clearly something wrong with the integration with Strava Live segments.

How do you remove Strava live segments?

Go into Garmin Connect on your phone, hit the three dots on the right, go to Training and Planning, then Segments, hit the three dots on the top right and you should be able to remove from there if they are on.

Its fair to say that this has improved my upload time post a ride being recorded by the 1040 too. Historically I had to wait forever before the ride uploaded. Removal of segments has improved this for me.

Same here but, it's a bug, it's been reported, it should be on the radar to get fixed

I just had this problem reappear yesterday, now it complains about that file (presumably) on every sync, but I haven't re-enabled Strava segments. Garmin has found a different way to make this same file generate corruption.
