Startup.txt message on Edge 1040

That's the contents of my startup.txt file located in the Garmin folder. Works fine.

Thanks for your responses. My startup.txt is exactly the same as yours, (except the message of course). I recreated it and it still doesn't work. I can only think that there is a corrupt file somewhere on my device.

What's the location of the startup.txt? It should be in the Garmin folder.

Make sure you don't have any special characters or emoji's in the file.

File is of the correct name and location and no special characters but still does not work. Many thanks for all the help but I feel Garmin can only resolve it!

startup.txt filename on my device is in lowercase and should contain only plain text as aweatherall noted already (mine is created / edited in Notepad (Windows)).

Just checked on my 1040 (v19.22):

Start message is shown correctly!

(character "@" in email adress is no problem, but if I use the German character "ü" - the whole message is not shown)

On my Edge 1030 it was possible to use „ü“ without problems!

There is a difference in usable characters between 1030 and 1040!
