Just updated to 19.21 and the connection to the power meter (THM Clavicula) shows power for 5 seconds, then zero's for 5 to 20 seconds. I deleted the sensor and tried reconnecting and the same thing still happens.

Hi Blake,
I tried using another bike I have with the same type of crank and it wasn't dropping the connection. So it very well may be a combination of the software update and the crank itself.
smithfx Please look out for an email from me today requesting some information we wouldn't ask you to send through the forums. We will look into this with you, but my immediate assumption is that there is something that will need to be looked at with the power meter itself.
This isn't passing the blame, it's just that there were no changes in the 19.21 that would impact the Edge communicating with your sensors, of any kind.
I appreciate your willingness to correspond further, and thank you for your patience.
when you search for a power sensor , it should find it under 2 names, one of it the ANT+, the other is the BT (if you go into the sensor details, it should show the used protocol. Then if found it on both, your should disabled the ANT+ version, and in this case the Edge will communicate via BT with your powermeter. it is the same with dual-hrm heart belt also, for example the Polar H9/H10 has much better signal (less artifact) via BT for HRV measurement during training, so i use that one and the ANT+ version is disabled. (disabled and not deleted, it is true for power sensor also, because if the auto -search is enabled, the Edge always find all ANT+ device automatically, and will use the ANT+ instead of BT, the ANT+ has higher priority in Garmin devices as i know)
if there are differnt firmwares in the 2 Zwatt cranks, that could be a problem (small chanche but could be) .
Blake, no problem. That was why I wanted down grade to the previous version to double check. As I mentioned in another post, I tried another crank it seems to be working fine. I really hate it when things get updated and stuff breaks because the first thing that is obvious is the update especially if it worked just a couple of days before.
I own a Garmin Edge 1040 Solar and I'm having same problem with U2e Power Meter (similar to Stages on Crankset).
At first, the power meter connects normally and works fine. After some riding time, it starts disconnecting and connecting at around 30 seconds. Missing several readings and not providing correct stats.
I have other sensors connected to my Edge device, such as speed sensor (Bontrager Duotrap S), Lights and Radar (Garmin Varia UT800, Garmin Varia RTL510), and broadcasted heart rate (Garmin Fenix 5S) - all of them work fine, except the power meter.
– Updated firmware to version 19.22 but issue still occurs.
Power meter connection was fine at some previous firmware versions
Hi Blake, just a quick update. I have submitted the files yet as I don't want you to go down a rabbit hole unnecessarily. I have connected the crank manufacturer who is contacting the power meter supplier because I cannot calibrate the crank without receiving an error in the power meter app (have the same problem using the Edge).
I will keep you posted as to what I hear back. I will probably prod them a sharp stick now they have been back from the Christmas break.
