is it possible to change size and color of the tracking triangle in the map?

I did document this somewhere in one of the threads. Let me see if I can find it.

but every time there is an update do i need to redo this step?

What you should do is take one of the Theme files, rename it and make your changes there and set the Edge to use your theme file. That way the changes are kept.

i will try to work on it but this is not my forte. i read you cannot break it but certainly i do not understand what I am doing AHAHA but thanks

unfortunately not! i found an italian ( i am from there) and the guy has uploaded two arrow files. https://community.mtb-mag.com/t/garmin-edge-1030-plus-colore-freccia-cursore.405117/ but still i do not get it! i am totally dumb. He says not to change the main file but use these files. I am very confused....

That will do the track colors (https://jnr.fi/garmin/), but not the cursor 

The tags that make up the cursor are

then if you check the italian zip file, the guy has changed the cursor creating a new theme arrow color.
